Appreciate what you have.

If today you lost
everything you have...

         and tomorrow you got
         it all back,

tomorrow would
be the best
day of your
life.

Identity Photos

Photos for Identity Assignment are due on TOMORROW! ---(Wednesday March 2, 2011)

Today you should have just completed a Guided Reading WS that goes along with Chapter 5 of the Focus on Photography Book.

NOW, you will post a paragraph on your blog that answers the following question:  What is an autobiography? What is a self-portrait?  How are an autobiography and a self-portrait the same?  How are they different? This post should be at least 2 paragraphs. It is worth 20 points.

Note: If you do not have images tomorrow, you will complete an alternative assignment.

For your alternative assignment, you will write:

a 2 page, (double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, 1 inch margin)
autobiography of your life.   What are the major events in your life that have made
                                 you who you are?

Tuesday Feb. 22

Today you will edit 3 of your 30 images that use our rules of composition

Try to select 3 that "go together" as a series, but if you cannot that is ok.

You are free for this assignment to edit the photos how you like.  I only ask that you avoid drastically changing the image by using Paint.NET's Effects menu.  You may change the hue, contrast, saturation, intensity, curves, and photos may be sepia, color, or black&white.  But, you can still have fun with them.  I suggest that you edit them so they look like they belong together.  Again, avoid using ink sketch, oil painting, distortions, or similar functions.

It should only take one class day to edit these photos. Post them to your blog today!

Here is an example.

Note that she has used the rule of thirds in all of these.
