5 Minute Walk-Composition

Step 1:  Watch this YouTube video on Rule of Thirds and Leading Lines
Step 2:  Look over (a.k.a READ) the following links to better understand Photo Composition
                  * Rule of Thirds
                  * Lines
                  * General Composition Tips   (click the links under the photos for more info.)
Step 3:  Think of a place to go for a "5 minute walk" Here are some examples.  (note: not all of these are GREAT examples)
Step 4:  Take your camera on a "5 minute walk."  Look specifically for Leading Lines and try to compose your images using the Rule of Thirds.
Step 5:  As you go, take LOTS of photos.  Simplify, Zoom in, Fill the Frame, Change the Point of View, Try Dramatic Angles, Watch for Aliens, Look for Frames, etc.  I recommend that you take at least 50 photos.

Due on Friday 2/21

On Friday, you will make "Contact Sheets" and post them to blog.  You will then select your 5 to 6 best images.  Look for images that use leading lines and/or the rule of thirds specifically.

Note: You will edit these later. More details about that will be given later.
