This project’s main goals are:
- To create a Paint.NET file
- To learn some short-cuts
- To learn how to paste and manipulate photographs in Paint.NET
- To learn how to use the selection tools
- To explore the filters available in Paint.NET
- Find image on sxc.hu and Right-click and Copy (it may be too large & then you will need to save it first, then open it using Paint.NET)
- Open up Paint.NET
- Ctrl – N (New) or File > New to create a new document
- Press Ctrl – V (Paste) or Edit > Paste – to paste your saved image
- Use all of these tools (but one at time) to select an area on your image EXCEPT FOR SINGLE ROW AND SINGLE COLUMN
- After the area is selected change the appearance by going to Effects and/or Adjustments
- Selecting multiple areas:
- You can hold down the SHIFT key in order to select multiple areas
- Try all the marquee tools and use the multiple selection areas.
- When you are done Save as a JPG in your PhotoArt, Beginning Folder.
- Call it: LastName-Selection.jpg
- Go to Turn-It-In at crouchphotoart.weebly.com (Assignment name is Selection)
- After that make a new one! Play with selection tools or filters. Discover new things in the program and share it with your neighbors.
